About Clara Hannigan

A Musical Journey

Clara is an artist based in New York City.

​

She grew up listening to a variety of music including: Jazz, Rock & Roll, and piano legends such as: James Booker, Ray Charles, and Fats Waller. 

​

When Clara started listening to newer music, she would look for parallels in songs throughout different generations. With that, she gained the new understanding that music is more than just sound, melody, or lyrics. She is fascinated with the aspect of intentionality being incorporated into each project she does.

She started incorporating more feeling and rawness in her style and firmly believes that music is a tool of authenticity and connects our shared experiences.

Today she draws inspiration from artists such as: Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Billie Holiday.
